Dialoga is a Bible study companion designed to help readers engage Scripture through thoughtful, question-driven conversation.
The app allows users to ask natural questions about biblical passages, explore historical and literary context, and reflect more deeply on the text— without replacing Scripture or personal study.
Dialoga is intended for personal use by a small community of friends and family and is not a commercial service.
Dialoga does not replace Scripture, personal study, or pastoral guidance. It is a companion tool designed to support careful engagement with the biblical text.
Dialoga only includes free and public domain translations. Popular versions like ESV, NIV, and NASB require commercial licensing and cannot be included. We currently offer KJV, WEB, ASV, and BBE.
No. Dialoga is a study companion, not a replacement for Scripture, personal study, or pastoral guidance. The AI helps explore context and meaning, but always points back to the biblical text itself.
Your denomination, theological orientation, and selected teachers help the AI tailor its responses to your tradition. For example, a Reformed user will receive responses that reflect Calvinist perspectives, while a Wesleyan user will see Arminian perspectives emphasized. See our theology comparison for a detailed demonstration.
Yes. Most data is stored locally on your device. When you use the AI chat, your question and passage context are sent to generate a response but are not intentionally stored. No data is sold or used for advertising.
You can read the Bible offline — all translations are stored on your device. However, the AI chat feature requires an internet connection to generate responses.
Study Level controls the theological depth of AI responses. "Beginner" uses simple language and basic concepts. "Intermediate" includes standard theological terms. "Advanced" provides seminary-level depth with original language insights.
The AI receives the full text of the verse in whichever translation you have selected, not just the reference. This means the AI's response is based on the specific wording of your chosen translation. See our translation comparison to learn how this affects responses.
Yes. Any changes to your denomination, theological preferences, study level, response style, or response length are applied to the very next question you ask — even within an existing conversation.
The reading tracker is an opt-in feature you can enable in Settings under Reading Preferences. Once enabled, a checkmark icon appears next to each chapter. Tap it to mark a chapter as read. You can view your overall progress, testament breakdowns, and per-book chapter grids from the Reading Progress screen in Settings.
Answer length is controlled by your Response Length setting. "Brief" gives concise answers, "Medium" provides balanced depth, and "Detailed" allows for comprehensive, in-depth responses. You can change this anytime in Settings.
If the AI cannot be reached (for example, due to no internet connection), the app will display a clear message letting you know. You can still read the Bible offline — only the AI chat feature requires a connection.
Dialoga is powered by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4, a large language model designed for thoughtful, nuanced conversation. Your denomination, theological preferences, study level, and selected Bible translation are all included in the prompt so that responses are tailored to your context.
Dialoga is built with privacy in mind.
